Nonviolent Communication Study Group
1st & 3rd Mondays each month 5:30-7:00 PM
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is based on the principles of nonviolence-- the natural state of compassion when no violence is present in the heart. NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are learned behaviors taught and supported by the prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that each of our actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs.
Understanding Grief Class
Tuesdays 1:30-3:00 PM
Facilitated by Rev. Gwen Moser. This group meets weekly to study the aspects of grief. As we deal with our grief, we create bonds with our other participants and support one another.
A Course in Miracles
Wednesday's- 1:00pm to 2:30pm
A Course in Miracles is a complete self-study spiritual thought system. As a three-volume curriculum consisting of a Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers, it teaches that the way to universal love and peace—or remembering God—is by undoing guilt through forgiving others. The Course thus focuses on the healing of relationships and making them holy. A Course in Miracles also emphasizes that it is but one version of the universal curriculum, of which there are "many thousands." Consequently, even though the language of the Course is that of traditional Christianity, it expresses a non-sectarian, non-denominational spirituality. A Course in Miracles therefore is a universal spiritual teaching, not a religionn
The group will be facilitated by Sue Reicker. Sue has facilitated the Course for over 6 years and has attend many retreats.
